Criteo – Email Series
Communication is hard. In a global company, it’s hard enough to keep everyone in your team on the same page. Even more so, it’s difficult keeping commercial teams in the loop with everything that’s going on in Creative. This disconnect was causing frustrations up and down the chain, across all teams, and I was tasked with coming up with a solution to improve our communication problem.
The solution was to create an email series that would be specific to Creative. I wanted the templates to convey the information in a clean and succinct fashion, while at the same time, having a sense of humor that can only come from a creative team.
I wanted the design to be something recognizable to the commercial teams so I drew inspiration from iOS push notifications. The color of each header would be tied to an issue type and the copy would reflect that as well.
These templates were initially all hand coded and being handled via MailChimp for distribution. This was a good start but it eventually let to head aches internally, as teams were having the emails go directly to spam. I was able to work everything up in Outlook so it would retain the same layout and ensure the communication would be delivered to the teams.
This project led me to be the point person for our team to handle all communications. Responsibilities include meeting regularly with other creative and commercial teams, writing effective content, and scheduling emails for timely delivery. The success of these templates have resonated amongst the other teams, requesting I work with them to create their own email templates to ensure their information is being delivered in a clear and concise way.
